OVERVIEW

AIICO Balanced Fund is an open-ended mutual fund, investing in Fixed income instruments, Money market instruments and both Quoted and Unquoted equities.

INVESTMENT OBJECTIVE

The investment objective of the Fund is to create medium to long term capital growth as well as yearly income streams from declared dividends for unit holders. The fund also provides investors with the opportunity diversify their investments into products that would hitherto have been more difficult to invest in.

FUND PERFORMANCE

The AIICO balanced fund closed the month of August ’26 with a YTD return of 21.89%
Nigerian equities declined 0.4% in August following profit-taking and portfolio rebalancing after the strong rally earlier in the year. Sentiment improved toward month-end, supported by renewed buying in selected large-cap stocks and optimism around Nigeria’s return to FTSE Russell Frontier Market status.

The NTB market remained active and bullish, driven by strong investor demand, improved liquidity and attractive carry opportunities. Broader participation in OMO auctions following the CBN’s policy change further strengthened demand and supported compression in discount rates. The FGN Bond market recorded strong demand, particularly across the belly of the curve, following the August bond auction. Strong post-auction buying drove further yield compression.
